Sycamore
We run an in-prison Restorative Justice course called the Sycamore Tree course, based on the story of Zacchaeus. It is a 5-6 week course which addresses the issues of victim awareness, the impact of crime and the responsibility to take restorative action. The group will consist of 6-12 men or women and at least one victim of crime.
One of the greatest punishments of imprisonment is the separation from family and the effect this has on the children, often the forgotten victims of crime. The Angel Tree project provides Christmas presents, which those in prison can give to their children to maintain the all-important family ties at Christmas as the whole community celebrates. Angel Tree also provides resources for prisoners children to enjoy an adventure holiday in a loving and secure Christian environment, provided in partnership with SU Scotland How it works – members of local churches make donations and PF purchases, all new, age and gender appropriate gifts for a particular prison and depending on the needs of the prison and security, the PF volunteers will wrap and tag the gifts. It is Christian love in a tangible form. Prison Fellowship Scotland is a Scottish Charity, Charity Number SCO 02222 |
